Competition and tournaments are not required to earn rank and enjoy Kendo. But it is an exciting part of Kendo for those who are interested in it.
These are optional, but beneficial ways to improve your knowledge of Kendo and acceletate your progress.
We earn rank in Kendo just as in other martial arts. There are 10 ranks before black belt, called Kyu, from 10th Kyu to 1st Kyu. Then there are 9 ranks of black belt, called Dan, from 1st Dan through 9th Dan.
We enjoy social events like our Christmas Party, Summer BBQ, Summer and Winter camps, hiking, local running events, etc.
